Building Tomorrow's World at Egis' 2024 Young Executives Innovation Seminar
Building Tomorrow's World.
To kick off the year, two of our rising stars, Jon Holden from our Dallas 10SB Studio and Hallen Deng from our Hong Kong 10 Design Studio, headed to Morocco for Egis' 2024 Young Executives Innovation Seminar.
The event gathered of 30 of Egis' emerging leaders, providing a platform for dynamic exchange and growth. Over the course of two days, attendees engaged with members of Egis' Executive Committee, including the CEO, Laurent Germain, to explore solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges, including energy transition, climate change, and the influence of AI. The seminars took place at the cutting-edge University of Sciences UM6P, a trailblazer in the realms of transformation and innovation, and home to one of Africa's most powerful supercomputers.
Jon led a dynamic conversation on the impact of AI and shared; “I love that Egis is forward-thinking and open to listening to the future of the company (us) for ideas and fresh perspective. This experience has taught me that there’s a much bigger world of building, construction, and engineering to be explored.”
Hallen shared, “I was eager to see how Egis creates innovative sustainable solutions in the infrastructure and architecture industries. I saw my involvement as a chance to learn from experienced professionals and gain new perspectives.”
We invited Jon and Hallen to share more on this unique journey:

How did you feel about being invited to the Young Executives Innovation Seminar?
I felt valued and honoured to be invited to lead and participate. I love that Egis is forward-thinking and open to listening to the future of the company (us) for ideas and fresh perspective.
What are you most excited about regarding your participation in this event?
As an architect it’s front of mind to push for progress and something new. It was exciting to know that I was going to get the opportunity to meet with my peers from around the world essentially to devote time to innovating. Anytime you can get into a room with people with open minds to innovate it is exciting.
In what ways do you see this experience impacting your approach and development as an architect?
I think this experience has taught me that there is a so much bigger world of building, construction, and engineering to be explored. Our group is unique in that a lot of those expertise are in one organization. I plan to leverage those resources and expertise for our architectural work moving forward.
What key takeaways do you hope to bring back to your team from your participation in the seminar?
Push boundaries in our work. Don’t settle for what we have allows done. Find the best solution to the problem and the most sustainable one.
Network with others within the group for expertise. We have an incredible group of architects and engineers across almost every construction sector. Connect and innovate together.
If you have an idea on a new technology, innovation, or simply how we can be better share it. We in the group will not let it go unnoticed and not developed. That’s how we get better every day.
